Helping Nexelec define a new aesthetics for its range of intelligent sensor systems.
For several years now, we have been working with Nexelec, a French leader in IoT systems for buildings and cities, on the definition of its global positioning and brand identity, the redesign of its website, and the development of a new product line.
After an analysis of the different functions of its existing smart sensors, which address a variety of different - yet intertwined - issues ranging from air quality to safety or fire detection, we suggested working on modularity to improve consistency across the entire product range and facilitate customers’ understanding of the company's overall value proposition.
Working on a shape hollowed out of a minimal parallelepiped, we aimed to suggest the value of collecting various types of ambient data from multiple sources to feed a smart, centralized platform.
We drew inspiration from fields as diverse as home appliances, consumer electronics and interior design, to shift the brand’s aesthetic toward a more premium positioning that appeals to both business clients - their customers - and the end-users who will interact with their products on a daily basis.
Based on these principles, we redesigned the entire customer journey, from the website to the packaging, user manual and product catalog, deploying a new brand and visual identity that fosters clarity.
We used soft, pastel tones and simple layouts to highlight the products, and developed custom iconography to make their specific features and functions easier to understand.
We implemented a new design system based on simple graphic principles: grids, plain tones and inserts, empowering internal teams to freely create new content while maintaining the overall brand consistency.
