A few megawatts in the space of a cabinet, and almost nothing we could show. We made Hyperscale’s technology legible as a product, a system and a website.

Context

Hyperscale Power was founded in 2025 by two power-electronics researchers from ABB. They build solid-state transformers, a newer kind of transformer that swaps the heavy magnetic core for power electronics.

The result is far smaller, and converts medium-voltage grid power straight to the 800V DC that data centers run on. As AI pushes power demand past what conventional units can handle, the company was raising its first round with no way to show the technology.

Mission

The company was only months old and had to be credible to two demanding audiences: the infrastructure buyers who would deploy the hardware, and the investors backing its first round.

Most of what made the technology defensible sat under NDA, so the work had to show value without revealing how it was achieved. That ruled out explaining the engineering. What was left was the result, and how plainly it could be shown.

Outcome

The hardest thing to convey was also the point: a few megawatts in the space of a cabinet.

We made that contrast the organizing idea. The product came first, a 3D model and renders treating it as finished industrial hardware, shot for scale and material. We then placed it inside the systems it powers, so its size reads against what it replaces. The identity followed from the object, gathered on a one-page website that launched with the company's €5M seed round.
